Some festivals and marathons have a short life span. Below is a list with some of the discontinued queer tango festivals and marathons. We have added these pieces of historical facts for those interested in researching the recent history of queer tango. The list is not complete.

- Abrázame Mucho – Global Queer Tango Meeting, Mexico City – on Facebook. Mexico.
- Artango International Tango Festival, Moscow. Moscow., Russia
- Copenhagen Queer Tango Days. Denmark. The last festival was held in 2014.
- Festivalito de Tango Queer de Montevideo c/o Tango Queer Uruguay. Uruguay. This is not an annual festival, but it has made a comeback after covid.
- International Queer Tango Festival in Seattle c/o Eric Damiana, Shaw Fitzgerald and Elias Reis. USA. The festival is discontinued.
- Love is Love, queer tango festival. Argentina
- Open Role & Queertangomarathon, Priotzer Mühle, Wendland. Germany. The latest marathon was held in 2017.
- Open Role Tango Marathon in Athens – on facebook Greece
- Queer Dance Club’s Queer Dance Festival, St Petersburg c/o Marina Ventarron. Russia
- Queer Tango Festival in Cologne c/o Rolf Räbiger. This festival was discontinued in 2016.
- Queer Tango Festival SALIDA, St Petersburg. Russia. The lastest festival held was in 2016.
- Queer Tango Festivalitos in Frankfurt. Germany. This festival was discontinued in 2010.
- Queer Tango Mini Festival in Gothenburg. Sweden
- Queerida Queer Tango Marathon, Riga. Latvia.
- QueerTango Marathon in Buenos Aires c/o Mariano Garcés and Juan Pablo Argentina. The marathon was discontinued in app. 2010.
- Quilombo Queer Tango Festival, Barcelona, c/o Dafne Spain. Quilombo (2016) is the grandmapa of Chamuyo, queer tango festival, Valencia 2019.
- San Francisco International QueerTango Festival USA. QueerTango San Francisco (QTSF) produced the San Francisco International QueerTango Festival for 4 years: 2009-2012. The festival is discontinued.
- Tango Kreuz & Queer, queer tango festival in Stuttgart Germany. The festival was discontinued in 2013
- The International Queer Tango Festival Berlin c/o Astrid Weiske. Germany. The 13. International Queer Tango Festival in Berlin 2025 was the last of one.
- The International Queer Tango Festival in Hamburg c/o Ute Walter, Marga Nagel and Timm Germany. The first festival was held in 2000. One year was skipped in the begining and the 10th festival was held in 2011.
- The International Queer Tango Festival in Stockholm c/o Charlotte Rivero, Sweden. From 2007-2013, Rivero organised 7 festivals. The festival was dscontinued in 2013.
