LGBT people have no rights in the United Arab Emirates.
The United Arab Emirates includes the Emirates of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras al-Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, Fujairah and Sharjah. Here sexual relations outside of a traditional, heterosexual marriage are a crime.
Both civil law and Sharia criminalize homosexual activity. Under Sharia the death penalty is the punishment for individuals, who engage in consensual homosexual activity. Article 177 of the Penal Code of Dubai imposes imprisonment of up to 10 years on consensual sodomy.
Foreigners who are caught having consensual sex or doing other “indecent acts” in public are given sentences of 1 month to 3 years, and then they are deported. (Source: Wikipedia)

Los Hermanos Macana at The Dubai Tango Festival 2013
The above restrictions make queer / LGBT couples refrain from going to Dubai. However, Los Hermanos Macana, the (straight) brothers Enrique and Guillermo met with the international tango jetset in the nice air-conditioned milonga of the Dubai Tango Festival 2013, where they performed their queer Tango Show. For them no role is set for more than a few seconds. They practice dancing both roles excelently as well as making the audience laugh now and then.
