Sharing insights, ideas and Queer Tango events

Dear Reader

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours. We send our thanks to all who have contributed to The Queer Tango Book and the Queer Tango Project. Thanks for making the Book possible.

2016 will be a great year for those of you who will travel to Queer Tango events, featuring one new Queer Tango festival - Quilombo Queer Tango Festival - and several new marathons and retreats. See the calendar (below) which lists 17 events in 2016 and more will be announced later.

Next year curators and tangueros Ray Batchelor and Gonzalo Collazo will launch a new project: The Queer Tango Image Archive, a digital collection of historical, pre-1995, images which relate to the themes and issues touched on by Queer Tango. The Queer Tango Image Archive aims to provide a resource website for anyone and everyone interested in Queer Tango Imagery. The Archive is a not-for-profit organisation supported by The Queer Tango Project.

We also hope to continue our conversations about Queer Tango and related topics with you on facebook at The Queer Tango Conversation next year. This group is thriving and has 391 members now.  And Olaya will continue her work translating selected essays from The Queer Tango Book from English to Spanish.
